Shower rooms: removing walls and doors means more space in the bathroom

Call it the case of the disappearing shower stall. First, the shower and the bath tub separated. Next, frameless glass shower stalls became the rage. Now, many homeowners are eliminating shower doors and walls altogether.

The term "open" shower says it all. This design makes a space appear larger because it has no doors or walls (or simply glass walls) to demarcate the shower. "It's a feeling of openness and luxury," architect Michael Harris explains. "You are bathing inside, but there's an outdoor quality to the experience."
Making a floor into a shower pan is not without challenges: The floor must be sloped for drainage, and everything within the shower's reach must be able to withstand moisture. Here are two open showers that put these principles into practice.
When Michael Harris designed this master bathroom, he situated the tub and shower together in one "wet room." The tub and shower are placed to the side, separated from the rest of the bathroom by a small threshold--a two-inch lip in the floor--and a small glass panel for water containment. Two sinks over a vanity occupy the other side of the space. "Doing it this way gives the room a better layout," he says. "We put a window up high to protect the owners' privacy and to give an outdoor connection." The floor tile, which runs through the shower and the rest of the room, is slate, reinforcing the outdoor feeling.
Everything floats," architect Adam Christie says of the shower room he designed and built with his wife, Lisa, who is also an architect. The floor of their bathroom is completely open. The wall-hung toilet levitates above the floor, as does the cantilevered sink. Even the medicine cabinet and toilet-roll holder are embedded in the wall. "It's a good-size bathroom to start with," explains Adam, ball valve "but it has a sense of openness that is created by the fact that everything hangs off of the walls."

Home Steam Showers: Installing a Steam Bath

To have steam bath in your own home, you need the proper sized steam generator. Most manufacturers provide guidelines for choosing a generator that take into account the size of the steam room and the materials used to construct it. Generators are usually rated by the number of cubic feet of the steam bath, but additional capacity must be added if your steam bath is made of heat absorbing materials such as glass, concrete, or marble.Once the proper steam generator has been selected, you have to decide on a place for it. The generator should be installed in a low traffic area. Possible locations include bathroom vanities, bedroom closets, or insulated attics or basements. The steam generator should not be installed outdoors or in a cold location. Most steam generators can be installed between 20 to 40 feet away from the steam bath, giving you plenty of options when choosing its location. Besides being in an insulated spot, it also needs access to electricity and water. There should also be a drain close by.The electrical connection usually has to be 240 volts, and the water supply can be either hot or cold. The line from the steam generator to the steam bath should have a slight slope to avoid any gullies that could trap condensation. Pockets of condensation could prevent the proper flow of steam, resulting in a dangerous build-up of steam pressure.bedroom firnitureOne final consideration about where to install the steam generator is to make sure that it is accessible for servicing. Although most units are quite dependable, you don't want to be tearing open walls if yours stops working.InstallationEven though either hot water or cold water can be used to feed the steam generator, hot water is preferable because it will create steam faster. To make a connection between your hot water heater and the steam generator you must first turn the water heater off and drain it. Cut the pipe from the water heater in two places to install a tap. After the tap has been soldered into place, run a line from it to the steam generator. With the steam generator in place, make the connection from the hot water heater to the generator and solder it. The steam outlet is now connected to the steam bath with 1/2 inch copper pipe. The pipe is run from the generator to the steam head in the bath. The steam head should be installed low, between six and twenty-four inches from the shower floor. As noted above the steam pipe needs to have a slight downward slant and must be free of gullies or turns that could trap condensation. Once it is in place and the connections soldered, wrap the steam pipe with insulation. With all the connections soldered properly you can turn the water heater back on and allow it to fill with water. As the water reheats, connect the controls to the steam generator. The control panel can be placed either in the steam bath or on the outside wall, but it must be installed away from the steam head. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for making the connections between the generator and the control panel.Plug in the steam generator and test it by using the control panel to turn it on. If everything is connected properly the unit should light up. Do not use the steam bath immediately, however. Wait at least one full day to allow the connections to dry properly.Installing a steam bath can be done by anyone with moderate plumbing skills. If you have not done this type of work before, hire a licensed plumber to install it for you. If you decide to do the work yourself, it would be worthwhile to hire a plumber to inspect your work before using it.

Online massage chair retailer opens showroom

After operating as an online-only retail site, Massage-ChairRelief.com has opened its first brick and mortar retail showroom in Taylorsville.

The new showroom is located in a dedicated area of Weidner Chiropractic, 2232 W. 5400 S., owned by AM6 Distributing Inc. and operated by Dr. Alan Weidner, a licensed chiropractor who has practiced in the Taylorsville area for 15 years. "I love the massage chairs. In my practice I use them and I know what they do for people. Most people don't know what it's like to be in a massage chair," Weidner said. "We had the Web site up and people could go to it, but we didn't have any control over what chairs people tried, we didn't have any control over answering their questions, we didn't have any control over explaining what our policies are and what our services are. Now with our store it allows us to do that. We can cater to a more local market and we can have a little more control about what people experience on the chairs and we can answer more questions." shower room"This is a pretty good range of chair models, as far as prices and features go," Weidner said. "Of course, we carry more models on the Web site, but working with these models for our general public will create a baseline for us to work from." bedroom furniture
""We don't want people to feel like they're being lured in to get chiropractic treatment. We invite everyone to come sit in the chairs. We don't charge for that and it's not part of the chiropractic business," Weidner said. "What people coming into the showroom like, though, is that there is a doctor here to answer any questions they might have. I have that clinical expertise to say which chair would be better for their conditions."
As an online retailer, 99 percent of sales at Massage-ChairRelief.com were from people who had gone online searching for a massage chair. The business has generated about $250,000 in gross sales annually.
In addition, a portion of allchair sales from the new store will benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Utah. MassageChair-Relief will donate $25 to $50 for every chair sold through the new store with the goal of being able to sponsor two children per year and have their wishes granted. bedroom furniture

The type of the steam shower

A steam room is a type of bathing where a humidifying steam generator produces water vapor that is dispersed around a person's body. These types of showers are becoming increasingly popular in many countries.. A steam shower is essentially a steam room that offers the typical features of a bathroom shower.
Steam showers are generally found in self-contained enclosures that prevent the water vapour from escaping into the main part of the bathroom, avoiding damage to drywall, paint, or wallpaper. Steam showers are available in a variety of materials, including but not limited to tile, acrylic, fiberglass, stone, and wood.
It is possible to convert an existing bathroom shower into a steam shower by adding a steam generator. The steam generator will produce steam and water (a byproduct), which must be connected to a drain below the shower, or designed to drain into the base of the shower.
Most steam shower rooms are sold as stand-alone shower units with between 6 and 32 jets located above the head, along the back or behind the lower legs. Modern steam showers may provide additional features such as foot massagers, ceiling rain showers, television, radios, telephones, audio input from an MP3 or CD player, chromatherapy or aromatherapy.
Steam showers are often available in gyms, but have also become a more common bathroom fixture in recent years, primarily due to falling costs.
The water vapour produced by these shower units is often referred to in common speech as "steam," but this is a misnomer. In physical chemistry and in engineering, steam is a completely invisible gas and would result in serious burns if applied in the shower.
A Steam Shower can use Solar Thermal technology and lessen the electric bill drastically by heating the water with the sun. This is a very green way to heat water for any shower or bath..bettery clips

Many homeowners are choosing to install a massage bathtub in their home today. For a period of time, bathtubs seemed to fall out of vogue.
Steam Room Benefits

The benefits of the steam room have been known for thousands of years and throughout history countless people have been using steam to enhance their sense of well being and improve their overall health. At the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st a huge influx in health conscious individuals in western society has fuelled a vast growth in the health industry. In the past, steam rooms have been restricted to health clubs and gyms, and many think steam rooms are only used at home by the wealthy; however top steam room specialists have made this wonderful past time available to everybody, not just the rich. With cutting edge technology at affordable prices, countless people are now enjoying all the wonderful benefits of a steam room.Brief Overview of Steam Room BenefitsIn a steam room, wet heat opens the pores of your skin to aid body detoxification. A steam generator is used to create water vapour at high levels of humidity. The heat and humidity may bring health benefits ranging from aiding stress relief, to body cleansing, to soothing aching muscles or arthritis. This article will highlight the main benefits and the importance of using a steam room:1st Steam Room Benefit: Eliminate toxinsThe average body has approximately 2.6 million sweat glands. The body only has four ways to excrete toxins; urine, feces, respiration and perspiration. During a steam room session the body can sweat out up to 30% of its toxins that have built up. Studies have shown that environmental chemicals and poor diet cause 95% of cancers, which in today’s society makes a steam room a very healthy and practical addition to the home. 2nd Steam Room Benefit: Rejuvenate and Hydrate the Skin Heat from the steam causes the heart to beat faster and harder in an attempt to cool the body, causing blood to flood even the smallest capillaries. Increased blood flow to these tiny capillaries (just under the skins surface) causes the skin to glow and look healthy because the blood cells carry minerals, vitamins and oxygen: vital for a healthy body. In addition, this increases the rate of body metabolism.3rd Steam Room Benefit: Boost the immune system: HyperthermiaHyperthermia refers to an elevation of core body temperature to above 37.2°C for therapeutic purposes. During a steam room session the body temperature rises and when the body temperature rises it is called a fever (elevation of body temperature above the normal level). A virus can only usually survive within a narrow temperature range. Therefore an increase in body temperature may either stunt the virus’ multiplication or kill the virus. Fever triggers the body to release white blood cells, antibodies and a protein called interferon. The white blood cells, which are produced in the bone marrow, help to defend the body against infectious diseases and foreign materials. Antibodies are proteins which help protect against disease-causing micro-organisms whilst interferon is any group of proteins produced by cells in the body in response to an attack by a virus.4th Steam Room Benefit: Enhance the Respiratory SystemSteam inhalation supports mucosal secretions in the respiratory system and helps to open up the airways therefore reducing respiration resistance. This helps to relieve the discomfort of asthma and allergies. Steam room benefits also include relieving inflammation and congestion of upper respiratory mucous membranes. It also helps to loosen secretions, stimulate the discharge of mucous from the throat and lungs (natural expectorant) and keeps mucous membranes from excessive drying.5th Steam Room Benefit: Relieve Stress and Relax MusclesHeat from the steam causes the muscles to relax, widening the blood vessels, allowing more oxygen to flow to them, releasing their tension. The heat also gives relief to sufferers of arthritis. The heat from the steam causes the whole body to relax; this experience melts away stress and soothes the mind & body.

Kitchen Bath Industry Show 2003
SAINTE-MARIE, Quebec--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 8, 2003
Kitchen/Bath Industry Show and Conference,
Orlando, Florida, April 11-13, 2003
MAAX, one of North America's top manufacturers of bathroom products, is proud to introduce the Pearl Sonetta massage bathtub. This new bathtub comes equipped with the recently launched Invigor bath massage system.
The forward-thinking technology that sets Invigor apart is its "whole bath" air injector system. 13 to 18 strategically placed air injectors-including two in the lumbar area for extra therapy-energize the entire mass of water to deliver a complete, full-body massage that makes other bathtub massage experiences pale in comparison. Another standout feature for Invigor is its heated backrest-imagine a soothing blanket of extra warmth across the entire back and neck. As well, solid-brass low-profile diffuser caps are carefully positioned to ensure zero contact between tub and legs or buttocks. The bather floats, buoyed by invigorating streams of water.
Two of the bathtub's technical innovations are critical from a maintenance and durability standpoint. First, a high-performance check valve ensures that traces of water and body oils never collect in the tub's manifold tubing. Secondly, an automatic purge cycle blows any residual water completely away from the diffuser caps, allowing the user to safely employ essential oils, bath salts or other products that maximize the therapeutic effect of the bath/massage.
Other Sonetta optional features include choice of 26 colors, premium trim, handrail, pillow and mood light to better suit homeowner needs.
Like all Pearl by MAAX bathroom products, the Sonetta bathtub is ergonomic, esthetically pleasing, and of superb quality. It combines elegance and comfort, blending European style with the practical and "homey" qualities that North Americans demand.
MAAX is one of North America's top manufacturers of innovative bathroom products, cabinetry and spas. Sonetta, Invigor and many of MAAX's other leading-edge products will be on display at K/BIS, in Booth 3045.

Write for (instantly download --- www.dulley.com) Update Bulletin No. 603 --- buyer's guide of 12 steam generator/room kit manufacturers listing controls, heat outputs, features, prices, sizing chart and steam room design/building tips. Please include $3 and a business-size SASE. Write to: James Dulley, Topeka Capital- Journal, 6906 Royalgreen Drive, Cincinnati, OH 45244.
Dear Jim: I think it would be nice and healthy to have a mini- steam room in our bathroom or bedroom. Are do-it-yourself home-size kits available or can I can build one myself? Will it cost a fortune to run one? Dear Art: Installing a home-size steam room is becoming more popular.
People are spending more time at home and are more concerned about picking up colds or the flu from steam rooms in health clubs. This is especially true for a steam room because of its warm, moist environment.
There are many steam room options available you for use at home.
The simplest and quickest way to add one is to install a complete kit. A lower-cost option, particularly if you are a do-it- yourselfer, is to buy the steam generator and controls and build the enclosure yourself.
The energy cost to operate a steam room isn't as great as you might imagine. Since one is usually used only during the winter, the heat produced helps to warm your home. The moisture given off is also helpful. After a steam bath, a cool shower is common so less hot water is used.
If your budget is unlimited, go all the way with a combination steam room enclosure/shower/whirlpool. You can take a steam bath first, then a massaging whirlpool bath and finish with a shower from eight nozzles.
Some complete systems include televisions, DVD players, surround sound and mood lighting.
For the rest of us, many smaller reasonably priced steam room kits are available. Small corner-style models are ideal for a bathroom or a bedroom. They take up little space yet can provide a comfortable steam bath. They include a steam generator, enclosure, fold-down seat and padded head rest.
There are also larger, two- or four-person models available and they are sometimes called steam suites. Most often, they are rectangular in shape and have glass sides with multiple seating and a larger generator.
Building a steam room yourself is not a difficult project because you can purchase many steam room components. Tightly sealed glass doors are important to contain the hot steam. Complete steam generator and outlet units with a built-in mirror and soap dishes are designed to fit between wall studs.
It is important to match the steam generator to the steam room. If the generator is too large, it will be difficult to control the temperature. If it is too small, it will take too long to produce enough steam. For example, a 100 cubic foot steam room should use a 5- kilowatt generator.
Some things to consider are a domed top so the condensed water doesn't drip. Acrylic or fiberglass walls are most efficient and programmable, digital controls are most convenient. Optional aroma therapy steam nozzles are available.
A effective method, but one that requires more elbow grease, is to scrape off the old adhesive with a wide-blade scrapper and then sand it smooth. You will no doubt dig into the drywall in spots, so get some spackling compound.

hot tub

Taking a hot tub inside the Ngorongoro Crater during Tanzania's hot dry season is far from a private affair. Quarters are close, particularly for resident hippopotamuses, which converge on a lone watering hole. They use the crowded setting as an opportunity to get frisky and do some courting. (Sure enough, most hippo births follow in eight months--a gestation period that dovetails with the arrival of the rains and fresh grass.)

Observing one particular courtship in Ngorongoro, photographers Anup and Manoj Shah--brothers who tag-team on their photo shoots with a wide-angle lens and a telephoto lens--compiled a veritable Kama Sutra of positions. As a prelude, the male followed the female into the water. Once there the couple clashed their jaws repeatedly, nuzzled, wheeze-honked, and craned their stumpy necks. Eventually they submerged most of their bodies in the water to mate, said the Shahs, who watched from the safety of their 4WD vehicle.
Let me count the reasons why the common hippopotamus (Hippopotamus amphibius) might be better appreciated from a distance.
Consider first that male hippos can fatten up to more than three tons. That pulverizing weight might be less fearsome if it guaranteed lethargy. But no, the titanic creatures can outsprint any human runner on land, and they often maul or kill the people they overtake. In such situations, the hippos are usually on the defensive. Territorial to the teeth, male hippos will fight each other, urinate, and defecate in efforts to defend their space--even flapping their tails in a windshield-wiper fashion to spray fresh feces farther.
If the "dung-showering," as it's called, fails to convince anyone to steer clear, think about this: hippos, though usually herbivores, can turn to cannibalism in crowded settings--an act that may drive outbreaks of anthrax among herds. Also, the creatures ooze an oily red substance (containing particles that may prevent sunburn).
Yet if you're a cattle egret (Bubulcus ibis), a front-row seat on the bank of the watering hole would be a prime spot for snapping up insects disturbed by a hippopotamian ruckus.

Anup and Manoj Shah were born in Kenya to Indian parents and grew up visiting nearby Nairobi National Park. After receiving several university degrees in England, they developed an interest in wildlife photography and returned to Kenya. Together they have published many books, their most recent being African Odyssey: 365 Days (Abrams, 2007).

Steam rooms

Introduction
Water is the essence of a spa and steam baths are obviously a big part of that. Traditionally, whether Turkish, North African, Scandinavian or Roman, spas included some element of steam - its soothing and muscle-relaxing properties have always been valued. Generally speaking, steam rooms originated in hot countries such as Turkey and Greece, and are often associated with ancient civilizations.
What is a steam room?
A steam room is exactly what it sounds like - a room full of steam. From the suite of grotto-like chambers and steaming pools of a full-size Turkish hammam to an in-your-own-home facility, steam rooms vary a great deal.
In some smaller steam rooms, you will sit down in a tiled chamber/room and relax whilst the hot wet steam oozes over you; you're wise only to stay for about 15 minutes as the heat is quite intense.
In others, the term refers to suites of steam rooms and hydrotherapy pools where you can stay all day in warehouse-sized baths with lots of rooms and pools, offering different temperatures and types of water and steam, promising different benefits. You might have a massage whilst you are there to loosen up joints and soothe muscles. The heat is very wet and sensuous.
Some steam rooms are more like saunas really, in that the heat is not so wet. Aroma grottos or Tropicariums are mildly-heated tiled steam rooms in which a scented oil such as eucalyptus or lavender is added to the steam to help you breathe more easily, say, or soothe you.
In many steam rooms you will have a degree of control over the temperature and intensity of the steam by using a panel or tap in the room. You can usually sit or lie down in a steam room in tiled alcoves.
What is a steam room good for?
Steam rooms offer a wet heat; saunas, dry. All heat treatments offer health and relaxation benefits and a steam room - like a sauna - is particularly good for your skin and muscles. Most people seem to have a preference for dry or wet heat.
Once your skin has sweated out its toxins and your muscles have warmed and relaxed, you'll feel much better in yourself too. Many people believe that having regular heat treatments helps them to fight off infection as well, as the boost in circulation helps to keep your immune system in good order. It can also help you sweat out a cold, and clear out your airways so you can breathe more easily.
A steam room has a similar effect to a fever in some ways, except it's not at all unpleasant - a fever is the way your body gets rid of its toxins. This is what you're doing in a steam room.
Some of its many benefits include deep relaxation, relief from muscular aches and pains, improved sleep and a calmer spirit generally.
Before you go
Some spas recommend that you avoid facials or waxing after any heat treatment as it may leave your skin feeling very tender.
If you're going to use the steam rooms it's worth finding out beforehand what you're expected to wear; some spas offer single-sex facilities and you're encouraged or welcome to be naked; in others you'll be expected to wear a swimming costume; some spas will provide towels for you to wear.
Precautions
You should avoid using the steam room if you:
are, or think you might be, pregnant
have a history of heart or respiratory problems
have problems with your circulation
have diabetes or an infection
have any other medical condition, or are receiving treatment of any kind
have had any alcohol
have a fever.
It may also not suit older people or young children.
Drink plenty of water; you'll sweat a lot, and at the same time as you're sweating out toxins you'll also be losing fluid. Drink plenty of water to avoid being dehydrated; this will make sure you really flush your system.
Watch the time! Fifteen minutes is the maximum time advised for some steam rooms, particularly if you're going in as part of a mud treatment. If you don't drink water or listen to your body when it says it wants a bit of cool air, you could be in difficulties. Only stay as long as you are comfortable.
Different kinds of steam room
Modern residential and hotel spa facilities are likely to include at least one, or as much as a set of steam rooms, alongside some pools; the bottom line is a swimming pool and a Jacuzzi. Top spas will offer up to ten different kinds of pool and steam rooms. So you might find several of the following versions in the same place. Try them out one at a time, and in the order advised (if there is one!) and see which you prefer.
You'll often come across steam rooms as part of a mud-based treatment - these are great fun and deeply sensual and relaxing treatments.
Aroma roomUsually a feature of a thermal suite of steam rooms, saunas and other heat facilities, an aroma room or aroma grotto is a warm tiled, or rock-lined room with seating for a few people. Aromatic steam from essential oils is wafted into the room.
CaldariumThis is very similar to an Aroma room - a warm room piping aromatic steam to whoever comes in.
Balinese multi-steam bathThis is a gentle, sensual and very relaxing experience. Steam is infused with subtle aromas of jasmine oil, which is believed to soothe the spirit.
HammamA hammam can be either one tiled steam room, or a suite of steam rooms and pools for communal use. In UK spa-terms, "hammam" usually describes a single room, with central water taps, and recessed bench-seats, decorated in blue, silver and gold-tinged tiles in the style of the Turkish Ottoman bath. They are often referred to as "chambers" (serail mud chamber, for example) but don't be alarmed; they are more like exotic luxurious grottos.
Japanese salt-steam bathThe steam in this treatment comes from gently-heated mineral water which has been infused with herbs and plants. The gentle heating of this salty water produces a really bracing, salty, aromatic mist.
Rasul/Serail/Mud chamberA traditional Arabian body treatment involving steam and mud. Slathered in mineral-rich muds of various colours, you sit in a tiled steam room for around 15 minutes. Afterwards you are either douched by a therapist or else shower yourself down in cool water. This is an unusual, deeply sensual treatment, often followed by an aromatherapy massage with essential oils.
Sweat lodge Similar to a steam room, a sweat lodge forms part of an ancient Native American ceremony of purification. The intense heat draws out toxins and also brings a clear head.

Steam Room Information

The only detoxification program that has proven successful in removing fat-stored toxins from the body is hyperthermia, or heat stress detoxification.Heat stress can also remove calcium deposits from the blood vessels and break down scar tissue from their walls.Hyperthermia can also remove chemicals such as DDE (a metabolite of DDT), PCBs (polychlorinated biphenyls), and dioxin from fat cells.Hyperthermia or heat stress detoxification can have a beneficial effect on numerous body systems, including the cardiovascular, endocrine, neurological, neuromuscular, bronchopulmonary (lungs), blood, skin, and immune.(Don't confuse this with the controversial and costly procedure of removing blood, heating it and returning it to the body). This process may be combined with other programs but should be medically supervised; removal of certain toxins can result in potentially adverse effects, especially to the liver or kidneys. The steam room aids in detoxification by creating artificial fever. it speeds up circulation and body cell metabolism thereby causing toxic wastes to be expelled through the skin. For best results, wrap yourself in a clean towel and sit or recline in a hot, but not painfully hot, steam room. Gently massage any painful areas. Cool gradually after leaving the steam room.To close your pores after a steam room visit, shower with cold water.Drink plenty of purified water while in the steam room. A typical stay should not exceed from 5 to 10 minutes. (Optional: Take 500-1000 mg of niacin to dilate your capillaries, if you choose.)A simple at-home procedure is to take a very warm (not hot) bath with Epsom salt and Baking soda. Put one half cup of each into the water and soak for 10-30 minutes.CAUTION: Numerous germs can be spread in the steam room. Therefore, avoid going into crowded steam rooms. Further, the steam room can have deleterious side effects for people with cardiac or respiratory problems. If you have health problems, do not use the steam room without the express consent of your doctor.

The difference between a steam room and the sauna

Saunas and steam rooms are heat rooms that people use for relaxation or to relieve some medical conditions like congestion or arthritis. But what is the difference between the two?
Saunas provide dry heat in a wood-paneled room from a wood or electric stove. Generally the stove heats rocks, which radiate heat throughout the room. A sauna may have small amount of steam if water is poured over the hot rocks, however a sauna overall provides dry heat. The temperature in a sauna typically ranges from 160-200 degrees Fahrenheit with a low level of humidity (ranging from 5-30 percent). Steam rooms, on the ot provide moist heat from a water-filled generator pumping steam into the enclosed room. The temperature in a steam room typically ranges from 110-114 degrees Fahrenheit with a humidity level of 100 percent. Neither one is necessarily better than the other; so go ahead and try them both out and decide which one you prefer.
Benefits of heat baths (dry or moist air)Sweating opens pores and can temporarily cleanse the outer skin, but sweating in saunas doesn't remove toxins from within the body as some people believe. Also, scientific evidence doesn't support the widely-held belief that using saunas or steam rooms causes weight loss, which is a popular reason why many people use these facilities. Both do make you warmer, make you sweat and relax, lower your pulse and blood pressure by causing blood vessels to dilate, and remove salts from your system.
CautionsThere is a risk of dehydrating in the dry heat of a sauna, so be sure to drink plenty of water before and after using a sauna. Try limiting your bathing time to 15-20 minutes the first few times using these rooms to get used to the experience. Also, beware that steam rooms provide ideal breeding conditions for various infection-producing microbes. For example, athletes' foot or other fungal infections can be better avoided if you wear a towel and shower shoes or flip flops in the steam room (and in the sauna, for that matter).
Finally, because of the extreme heat — especially in saunas — people who are pregnant, have heart disease, high or very low blood pressure (or who are taking any medication that affects blood pressure), epilepsy, those taking antibiotics, or those using any type of mind-altering drug (like stimulants, tranquilizers, alcohol) shouldn't use saunas or steam rooms. As always, you can talk to your health care provider to make sure using a sauna or steam room is safe for you.
Most importantly, when heat bathing RELAX and ENJOY! Heat baths can be hard to come by as many people don't have space or money to build them in their homes, so you may want to take advantage of those facilities at your gym!

The history of Steam room

The history of the steam room goes back thousands of years. It was popular with the ancient Greeks, it was also subsequently adopted by the Romans which they called the "Sudatorium" in latin.
Between 1983 and 1986, at the University of Munich’s Institute of Medical Balneology and Climatology a comprehensive series of comparative tests were conducted to determine the effects of the sauna, steam room and whirlpool bath. Studies showed that the steam room helped with Bronchial asthma, bronchitis, catarrh of the upper respiratory tract, coughs, hoarseness, expectoration, non-acute rheumatic complaints and restricted or painful movements of the joints. The steam room is also beneficial for people suffering from Sleeping disorders, poor skin circulation, dry, chapped skin, muscular tension, muscular weakness in the subcutaneous blood vessels, and sensitivity to sudden changes of temperature.
Another great advantage of the steam bath is in its highly beneficial effect on the skin. The moist heat stimulates the subcutaneous blood flow and cleanses the skin intensively, opening the pores, removing dead skin and impurities and leaving the skin feeling soft, clean and smooth

Safety and Convenience with Walk In Bath Tubs

As we get older and less agile, certain aspects of living at home begin to present a challenge. One of the worst of those is the bath tub and shower area, with its slippery surfaces, high steps, and multiple obstacles. The answer to this dilemma is the walk in bath tub. As aging-in-place building philosophies sweep the nation, the walk in bath tub is leading the charge to create safe, convenient bathroom spaces for those who might find a traditional bath and shower difficult, and dangerous, to use.
Walk in Bath Tub BasicsA walk in bath tub is a tub with a swinging entrance door that allows easy access for those who might find it difficult to climb into, and get out of, a standard bathtub. They come in a large variety of models that offer a number of different features. That being the case, it's important to know what's out there before you buy.
What to Look forAs has already been mentioned, the model of walk in tub you end up purchasing is going to depend a lot on what you're purchasing it for. If you just want to feel safer and more secure, then a low rise model is the perfect solution. These models are basically a regular sized bathtub with a swinging side door that makes getting in and out of the tub less hazardous. Of course, many people looking for a walk in bath tub have more pressing needs. For those homeowners, there are walk in tubs with high walls and raised seats, making them ideal for people who use wheelchairs, scooters, and walkers, and for those who simply can't get up and down like they used to. Transferring from a wheelchair to one of these tubs is a breeze, making it possible for those with mobility restrictions to retain their independence when it comes to personal hygiene.
Walk in Bath Tub LuxuriesFew walk in bath tubs come without the option of adding a few luxuries to the design. Hydrotherapy in the form of jets, whirlpools, and other water massagers, can make bathing a therapeutic experience, as well as a cleansing one. Besides hydrotherapy, numbers of models come with features such as seats that raise and lower at the touch of a button, and hand held shower heads so you can achieve an ultimate clean without having to stand up.
Walk in InstallationWhile it may sound like a daunting task, walk in tub installation is actually a pretty easy endeavor. Most walk in tubs are pre-plumbed, meaning all you have to do to get them running is hook them up to the pre-existing water source in your bathroom and plug them into a wall outlet. Of course, you always have the option to have a plumber fit it in as a permanent fixture, both plumbing and electrical wise, greatly reducing the chance of future potential problems. As for fitting these tubs into pre-existing bathrooms, there's no need to worry. Most walk in tubs are designed with space considerations in mind, and you can rest assured that there is a model out there to fit your allotted area, whether it used to house a narrow bathtub, or an even smaller shower stall. Of course, if you have the space there are larger, more spacious models to choose from that really let you stretch out, relax, and enjoy your bathing experience.
If you think a walk in tub might be the right fit for you, talk to a supplier or plumber about what you need to do to get one of these safe, attractive, and convenient bathroom fixtures installed in your home

Hot Tub Covers

Why a Cover is Important A cover is a requirement for spas due to a variety of reasons. First, without a cover, the spa would lose its ability to retain its heat, resulting in very expensive heating bills. In addition, the cover helps to protect your water from impurities, as well as from evaporation. A spa without a cover is also unsafe. Small children and pets could easily fall into a spa without a cover. Determining a Quality Cover The cover is the first thing that will need replacing on your spa, so it is important to look for a quality cover. Most covers look the same, however, it can be hard to determine a quality cover from an imposter. The following list are things to look for when choosing a cover:

1. Density of the Cover. Look for a cover with at least a 1.5 lb foam density. This type of cover is structurally sound with sufficient insulation. The R-Value for these covers is 12.7, which is an excellent, energy-efficient rate for hot tub covers. Some manufacturers use a 1 lb foam density, but it does not provide adequate insulation. There are even covers with 2 lb foam density, however, make sure the cover is not too heavy and cumbersome to handle. We would recommend a cover lifter for most spa installations.

2. Extended Apron. Some covers have a short 2" vinyl flap, or apron, around the perimeter of the cover that barely covers the spa shell. This can result in a loss of heat and moisture. Look for covers that extend at least 4" beyond the spa, covering the shell coping as well as a portion of the spa cabinet. This will keep the heat and moisture in, and help your spa to operate more efficiently. 3. Heat Seal Gasket. Most spa covers are large and fold in half for better maneuverability. However, with extended usage, a crease will begin to form in the area where the cover folds. This crease loses valuable heat and suffers vapor loss. On cold days, you can actually see the heat and moisture escaping! To correct this, look for covers that utilize a heat seal gasket at the crease that keeps the heat in and prevents vapor loss.4. UL and ASTM Listing. Covers that are listed with UL (Underwriters Laboratories) and ASTM (American Society of Testing and Materials) provide many benefits. Covers that are not UL or ASTM listed will often require a fence to be installed around the hot tub for safety. UL and ASTM listed covers have been tested to withstand hundreds of pounds, protecting children and pets from accidentally falling into the spa. UL and ASTM listings ensure that the covers either meet or exceed all of the safety standards set by UL and ASTM, providing peace of mind for the owner. 5. Warranties. Since the cover is the first thing that will need to be replaced on your hot tub, it is important to look for an extensive warranty. Most manufacturers determine the length of coverage by dividing in half the time that they perceive the part to last. Most manufacturers offer only a one year warranty on covers, meaning that it would need replacing within two years. A cover can be a very expensive item to replace, so it is ideal to look for at least a three year warranty.Hot Tub

Using a Steam Room

A steam room can be used both with or without the steam function operating. When using the steam function in a steam shower, there are many factors to take into consideration for a safe and relaxing experience. There is no right and wrong way to use a steam shower as every person is different and every person has their own personal preferences. However, there are a few things you can do to help make your steam shower experience safe and exhilarating. Below are a few pointers on using a steam shower.
Steam Shower Preparation
Drink Plenty of Water Before Using a Steam Shower: It is a good practice to keep hydrated all the time, drinking about 8 pints of water per day to replace and top up the water in the body. The importance of drinking sufficient water before using a steam shower is even greater. Thirty minutes before using a steam shower drink plenty of water to ensure you are well hydrated. This is beneficial on two levels. It is good to keep hydrated during the steam shower and it is also good to keep the bodies water supply topped up. The body is 70% water, therefore it's vital to keep hydrated to perform sharp mentally, physically and to remain in good health. It is said that a 2% drop in bodily fluids is the main cause of daytime fatigue highlighting the importance of hydration before and after a steam shower session.
Pre-Heat the Steam Shower: If you like to enter the steam shower when it is hot (around 30º Celsius), activate the steam function in the steam shower ten minutes before you intend to use it. If you wish to enter the steam shower as soon as the steam is switched on, it is unlikely you will be able to reach a temperature that is as high as the pre-heated steam shower.
Using the Steam Room
Enter the Steam Shower quickly: If you are entering a steam shower that has been pre-heated it is important to enter the steam shower quickly to avoid heat loss. When the steam shower doors are opened, steam will escape. The longer the steam shower doors are left open, the more steam will escape, resulting in a cooler temperature within the steam shower. Be quick to get into the steam shower, however don't be so hasty that you slip or hurt yourself.
Steaming up: While you are in the steam shower you will notice your skin will become wet. Some of the moisture on your skin is from sweat and some from the water vapour in the steam, which rests upon your skin. Oftentimes this water vapour rests upon the hairs of the arms which gives them the appearance of being white. Some people prefer to sit while others prefer to stand while steaming up.
Radio: You can activate the radio and listen to your favorite radio station while relaxing in your steam shower.
Aromatherapy: Depending on the mood you are in, you can add 5 drops of aromatherapy oil onto the steam outlet. The aromatherapy oil is caught up in the steam, dispersing the aroma throughout the steam shower. Take deep breaths in through your nose and your entire orifice will be relaxed or enlivened, depending on the aromatherapy oil used. After approximately five minutes one could add a few more drops of aromatherapy oil to top up the dissipated aroma fragrance.
Shaving / Exfoliating: The steam shower is an excellent place to shave and exfoliate. The steam loosens dead skin making exfoliation easy using a loofah pad. Shaving in a steam shower is effortless. Men who don't like to shave because of the discomfort will find a shave in the shower a joy. Apply shaving cream to the face (the shaving cream should be left outside the steam shower as it is a pressurised canister). When you start to shave, the blade will glide over the skin removing the hair, almost as if it wasn't there. Some men have said that the best shave they have ever had has been in a steam shower. Women who shave their legs can also reap the benefits of shaving in a steam shower.
Cooling down / Washing off: After 15 to 30 minutes, or the pre-determined length of the steam session, turn the steam function off. Turn the shower on and change the temperature of the water so it is cool to cold. Shower in the cool to cold water to cool the core body temperature and wash the hair with shampoo and conditioner. If you would like to steam for longer, just turn the steam back on. Typically it is also possible to have the steam and the shower on at the same time.
Finish: Open the doors and the steam will billow out. It is good to open up a window if there is one as this will assist in releasing the steam from your bathroom.
After the Steam ShowerAfter using the steam shower it is recommended to have another glass of water. This will ensure you are well hydrated, replenishing all the water lost from the steam shower session. If you don't drink enough water before and after a steam shower session you may get a headache or feel faint.

Composure When Buying Your Shower Enclosure

Choosing a shower enclosure doesn’t seem like a very daunting task; however, if the shower enclosure you do decide to purchase doesn’t suit the overall bathroom design, then that dream bathroom which you envisioned will be washed away before your eyes like water down the drain.
It’s ‘Cosy’We’ve all heard the horror stories of a friend receiving a shower cabin, or, if you can afford it, a ‘steam shower cabin’, and then realising it doesn’t fit within the space allocated. Therefore a critical question you must continually ask yourself when designing your bathroom is, ‘Will this shower enclosure fit in the allocated space?’. Remember to take into account the opening and closing of the shower cabinet doors.
When space is limited, sliding shower doors would make a great space saver. The doors run along hinges on the framework of the shower enclosure, therefore not extruding into the bathroom, which is great for conserving space. Therefore, when purchasing a shower enclosure, make sure you are clear on the dimensions and have measured your bathroom accurately: ensuring the unit will actually fit inside your bathroom when it arrives. Take your time and hire a professional for advice and installation.
What do you mean it just broke? There are hundreds of shower cabinets on the market, but how do you know what’s good and what’s poor. Quality is something that’s hard to decipher when you’re not an expert, but if you follow a few simple steps, the chances that you will be happy with your purchase will drastically increase. You don’t want to go through the headache of redeeming your warranty within 3 months of installing the shower enclosure: buy something of a more substantial quality and save money in the long term, while enjoying the benefits of a more luxurious product.
It’s important to check whether the company you are purchasing from test their products. Sufficient product testing will help ensure the shower enclosure won’t break within months of receiving your product.
Look for good materials, toughened glass is great due to its durability and suits nearly every bathroom: typically, look for a 6 to 8cm tempered safety glass. Top of the range shower enclosures come with an aluminium or chrome finish, but again, different companies have different levels of quality, even in the profiling, where some may use 0.5mm aluminium thickness, others use 1.5mm. It is worthy to note that a number of companies use plastic to profile the glass, which not only looks substandard; it also compromises the strength of the glass, raising safety issues. Some truly luxury shower enclosures have even been seen to use gold or silver in their designs.
When you get to see the product in person, there are some telltale indicators of poor build quality. These include: Chrome peeling: This is a sure sign of poor build quality as you don’t want that beautiful sleek finish to disintegrate after a few uses. This usually is due to plastic handles coated with chrome.Door rollers: These should slide easily, they should feel firm and they should be tested vigorously. Safety: This is an important thing, and it is advisable you consider this in your buying decision. Certificates like the CE mark are essential, however, even poor quality products can gain certificates such as CE, therefore know what to look for in a quality product.
Look to the future One thing that does make installing easier which should come in all new shower enclosures is modular systems. This makes for effortless adjusting and installation.
Custom build enclosures can sometimes be the only type to suit you. These can usually be found from specialists who will custom build your enclosure to your bespoke requirements. However this may send the bill to astronomical proportions. When finding the right shower enclosure for your bathroom, it’s a good idea to spend some time combing the internet for the right product to suit your requirements. Buying on the internet can be cheaper and easier than visiting retail stores as there is a selection, fit for a king, waiting for you at your fingertips.

This article will describe what happens to the body’s temperature when it is exposed to the extreme heat of a sauna.
On 26th December 2007 a television show on Channel 5 called 'Grilled and Chilled', produced by The Royal Institution Christmas Lectures, conducted an experiment on what effect extreme temperatures have on the body. To test this, they needed an infrared sauna and as a result, they approached Di Vapor to request the use of one of its saunas. Di Vapor was happy to help the Institution by donating one of its infrared saunas, especially as the show was in the interest of science and education. During the show, the infrared sauna was pre-heated to 58°C. The person who volunteered for this experiment swallowed a white pill called a radio thermometer, which transmits the temperature inside their stomach to the outside world. The signal is picked up by a receiver and is then fed through to the computer, which shows the current internal core temperature of the volunteers’ body. An infrared sauna was used instead of a traditional sauna in this experiment as the infrared sauna simulates the heat of the sun much more accurately than the traditional stove sauna. Infrared waves are the reason why the body feels deep penetrating warmth in the sun, as the waves penetrate further than the surface of the skin.
The initial starting temperature of the volunteers’ body was 37.34°C. The volunteer then stepped, fully clothed, into the sauna for 10 minutes.
In the body, heat is lost through conduction, convection through air movement and by radiating away the heat. However, this heat loss is only possible if the temperature of the air is cooler than the body temperature of the person. On the other hand, if the air temperature and anything which the body is touching is hotter than the temperature of the body, then conduction, convection through air movement and radiation will not take the heat away from you, in fact it does the opposite: it will actually deliverer the heat to the body, causing it to heat up. Therefore, when one is inside a sauna which is hotter than 37°C, the body cannot cool itself down in those different ways.
If you blow on the back of your hand, you will feel it will be cool, as the heat is taken away through convection. Now, if you wet the back of your hand, or lick it, and then blow on it, you will feel it is much cooler than when you just blew on it. This is because the water on the skin is evaporating, and evaporating water takes away a lot of heat from the body. The body burns 1 calorie for every 1.5ml of water you evaporate. The sweat glands are the body's natural way of keeping itself cool. They create salty water which lies on the skin like a thin sheet and evaporates to keep you cool. There are approximately 2.6 million of these tiny sweat glands on your body; that equates to about 120 for every square centimetre of skin. When the body sweats, for example, in a sauna, a hot climate, when exercising or in a steam room, the tiny sweat glands will release this watery fluid. This watery fluid contains salt, urea and traces of toxins.
On a very hot day, the body can easily lose 1.5 to 2 litres of water per hour. The body's gut can only absorb 1.5 litres of water per hour; therefore it's very difficult to keep the body hydrated when one is exercising on a very hot day, even impossible to stay sufficiently hydrated. This illustrates the importance of drinking sufficient water while taking a sauna session.
After the volunteer came out of the sauna, after being in the 58 degrees heat for 10 minutes, his body temperature only rose 0.35 degrees from 37.34°C to 37.69°C. From these results, we can see that being in a hot sauna does increase the body’s temperature slightly; however, the increase is minor. This experiment definitely does show how incredible the body’s ability is to regulate its temperature, to keep it at a constant 37°C. Enjoy a sauna session and enjoy the health benefits associated with them, but remain hydrated for a safe and enjoyable experience.Steam Room

Another brand of Midocean company:Gold Comte

Gold Comte is another brand of Midocean company. like AROMA, Gold Comte® sanitary ware series includes computerized steam bathroom, shower enclosure, surfing massage bathtub, shower screen, shower column, sauna bathroom and surfing swimming pool. The manufacturer adopts international advanced equipment and management and boasts a batch of best designers, R&D personnel and quality controllers that is why the products are so popular in different markets.

Gold Comte® sanitary ware series uses imported quality composite board, which integrates one or two layers of PMMA on single or both sides of ABS plastics due to high polymer nature. The board features:

1. Impact-resistant: it is compounded of multiple layers of different materials so that it can resist strong external impact.
2. Lustrous: The 4mm-thick board is smooth on both sides. Its good resistance to impact makes glass fiber unnecessary on the backside of the product so as to reduce the dust pollution caused by glass fiber, protect the environment, improve fire-fighting and cut down weight. In contrast, those made of ordinary PMMA must be coated with glass fiber on the backside to increase strength.

The bathroom door made of 6mm safety glass together with classic Roman column (some models) makes the product look more elegant and noble.

Depending on models, products have all or some of following functions and components: steam bath, back acupuncture-like massage, sole massage, multi-functional shower, top-mounted sun shower, luxurious dome light, crystal column, ventilation fan, FM radio, CD in and call receiver.

We do our best to provide you products with high quality, real practice and fair price. To protect your legal rights and maintain our reputation, we also provide you best services after you purchase the product.

1.       The product is warranted against any defect for one year since the date of purchase if such defect is not caused by human errors or improper use (contact local distributor for details);
2.       If any quality problem is found in normal use, you can contact local distributor for immediate solution;
3. Please feel free to consult local distributor for any question about operation.

Hot Tub Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to do before the spa arrives?
The first thing to consider is the spa's location. The area should be free from overhead obstructions and trip hazards but a degree of privacy should also be considered. A sheltered area is probably preferable, especially as exposed sites, subject to wind and rain, can increase the running costs of your spa.
Select the material that is going to surround the spa carefully. For instance, gravel and grass can easily be carried into the spa on the soles of feet.
If the spa is to be located on a concrete slab then a minimum thickness of 4ins (102mm) is required. If it's to be located on raised decking then make sure that any calculations take into account the combined weight of the spa with water and people so that a suitable foundation can be built.
Before the spa arrives check the width of gateways and fences so that there is a clear access route. Watch out for overhanging gutters, tree branches, or power / telephone lines, anything which could obstruct the route or cause possible harm. Take note of steps or steep slopes which can also cause a possible hazard.

What electrical services are required?
All spas need an adequate power supply installed to conform to the 16th Edition of the I.E.E regulations and to Part P as well. All the work must be carried out by a qualified electrician who will issue a certificate to show conformity. The spa will require a suitable fused spur with an isolator and an R.C.C.D of maximum 30 milliamp trip rating. The spa must be either hard wired back to the breaker or wired via a suitable waterproof outdoor connector, providing it conforms to the regulations.

Should the spa be near to a drain?
A nearby drain is important as all Caldera spas come with external drain ports from which to drain the spa. While most water authorities will allow you to discharge into the normal drains it is worth checking if they require you to lower the chemical levels prior to discharging. If draining into a cesspit or septic tank please take care as you do not want the high sanitiser content killing off any beneficial bacteria.

Does the spa water need chemical treatment?
Yes, all spas that keep the water in for longer than a single bathing session must have chemicals applied. The approved sanisters for your Caldera spa are chlorine in tablet or granular form, bromine or BaquaSpa (p.h.m.b). Any one of these sanisters will keep the water wholesome if applied in line with the manufacturer's instructions.
The water in your spa should be chemically treated and the chemical levels should be kept within the parameters advocated in the BISHTA (45.3KB PDF file size) (British & Irish Spa and Hot Tub Association) guidelines, as these are proven to ensure safe bathing.
If your spa is fitted with an Ozonator then it is complimentary to, and not in place of any form of chemical treatment, since the Ozonator does not produce any residual sanitiser to keep the water safe when the pump is turned off.
Your Caldera dealer will be able to provide you with further advice on the chemical treatment of your spa.

Does it matter what sort of water I use to fill up the spa?
The water that is used for filling and cleaning the spa should be clear in appearance and be in the pH range of 7.2 - 7.8; have a total hardness of 50 - 400ppm calcium carbonate; and have a Total Dissolved Solids level of less than 1000p.p.m. If in doubt, your local water authority should be able to supply you with this information. If your water comes from a well or borehole then you should ensure that it meets these parameters before filling your spa. The usual method of filling a spa is by a garden hose, this should always be run for several minutes to get rid of any residual water in the hose to prevent the possibility of Legionella entering the spa.

What warranties apply in the UK?
With Caldera you get some of the best warranty terms in the industry. All Aqua Melodies, Utopia and Paradise Series have a ten year no leak warranty on the shell structure, seven years on the surface finish, five years on the plumbing and three years on the heater and the Eco Tech cabinet. All the pumps and switchgear have a two year warranty. Click here to download Our Comfort Guard Warranty (132KB PDF file size)
The Highland series has a three year no leak warranty and two year warranty on the surface finish, internal components such as heater and pumps, plus a two year warranty on the plumbing. Click here to download Our Highland Warranty (284KB PDF file size)
It is worth noting that Caldera has been in existence since 1976 so have been around long enough to up hold these warranties.

Can I wet test my spa?
Undoubtedly yes! all Caldera dealers will be more than happy for you to arrange a suitable time to come in and test your potential new purchase, after all how else are you going to discover the superior massage from the superb hydrotherapy jets?

Are there any proven benefits from having a Caldera Spa?
It is widely recognized that prolonged immersion in warm water coupled with gentle or deep massage offers a measurable health benefit. The ideal bathing session will be around 20 minutes in duration, in water between 36- 38oC. The elevated temperature increases blood circulation thereby giving a mild cardiovascular workout. With the increased temperature, perspiration occurs, thus removing toxins and increasing kidney functions. Caldera is the official Hot Tub sponsor for the American Institute of Stress which in turn endorses the benefits of Caldera spas.
Please note, if you have a medical condition or are using any medication such as beta blockers or Warfarin, medical advice should be sought from your G.P as, while there are undoubtedly numerous quantifiable benefits from spa bathing, there may be a need for some guidance.

What benefit does an air blower give to a spa bathing experience?
Buying a spa with an air blower fitted is a matter of taste, some people find that when the air blower is running the bubbling water is a little over powering. If, however, you are serious about getting the best massage experience in your spa, an air blower giving blown air through the seat of the spa is a must. The water hydrotherapy jets give localized massage whereas the air blower gives a gentle all-over massage.

Do more jets mean a better spa?
Absolutely not! With Caldera the superiority of the massage experience is the combination and quality of jets offering different massage patterns, from the Magna Ssage jet which is a constantly rotating jet giving a soothing stroking massage, through the OrbiSsage which produces a unique, pulsating massage pattern to the Euro jet which is used in the Atlas neck massage system which is the finest neck massage system on the market today.
Use all the jets in the Hot Tub Therapy Circuit and it is just like having your own personal trainer! Simply move from one jet position to another, starting at the mildest and moving on to the deepest most penetrating massage which will really revive those tired aching muscles. Finally, finish off with a mild massage, then lie back and enjoy the water for its warmth and soothing qualities. Hot Tub

For electric heating type, ensure the power wire is connected correctly and safely. Because of having a big power, this type cannot be used for long time at every time. Directly heating type needs more attention. As soon as a fault happens, it must be turned off. For solar type, the installation position and angle should be proper. Gas type should be installed in kitchen but not in bathroom. The height is f1.4m-1.6m. When using, first, ignite it and then open the water valve. After several seconds, it can be used.
After-sales Services Factor. We offer free delivery and installation services in the downtown. One-year warrantee.
Benefit of hot tub

Benefit of hot tub :
MassageHigh-pressure water on tired muscles provides a soothing and stimulating effect similar to that of an expensive massage therapy session. In fact, a home spa gives you instant, permanent access to the same beneficial effects of hot water enjoyed through the ages by the ancient Turks and Romans (or anyone who happens to live near natural hot springs). A hot tub’s hydro massage jets target pain precisely. Jets in the footwell, for example, alleviate pain in your ankles and feet, while swirling jets installed in the back of a hot tub’s lounge seat ease tension in the back and neck. Morning stiffness? A relaxing soak is a great way to start the day. More pain at night? Have a soak before bedtime.
Improved SleepHumans are supposed to sleep nine or 10 hours a day. A relaxing daily spa session can help you get the greatest benefits from the sleep you DO have time for.
Social LifeHaving friends over for a hot tub is a lot easier than cooking them dinner. You’ll find your Coast tub could quickly become a social hub for family, friends and Significant Others. And you can always order pizza.
Family TiesWant to learn all about Jenny’s school play? Or Jack’s soccer? A hot tub is the perfect place to reconnect with your loved ones. It’s like taking a vacation in your own back yard — every day.
Arthritis reliefMany doctors strongly recommend hydrotherapy — soaking in warm water — as part of a comprehensive treatment of chronic arthritis pain (which may also include physiotherapy, hypnosis and medication). Just 10 to 15 minutes per day in water temperatures between 36 and 40°C (98 to 104°F) can significantly improve your body’s coordination and flexibility. A hot tub is also an excellent place to exercise sore arms and legs, because unlike exercising on land, which forces your muscles and joints to fight against gravity, exercising in the near-weightlessness of a hot tub requires minimal energy and strength. Finally, the warm aquatic environment facilitates blood flow to your extremities and makes it easier for your heart to pump. How do we know all this? Our President and CEO, Don Elkington, serves on the Board of Directors for the Arthritis Research Centre of Canada.
InvestmentA Coast hot tub will look great in your back yard, especially with a choice of cabinets and shell colors custom-tailored to its surroundings. And like a good kitchen or bathroom reno, an attractive, top-quality spa can add esthetic and monetary value to your property
